We recommend hand-washing BioThane® accessories with mild soap and water and drying them with a soft cloth.
Please note that brass accessories will oxidize over time; regular polishing/cleaning will minimize oxidation. Our rose gold (brass-plated) and matte black accessories may show signs of wear over time; however, this is normal and does not affect the integrity of the accessories. We recommend washing with mild soap and water and drying with a soft cloth to clean brass-plated and matte black accessories.
Important note: Please always dry all accessories thoroughly after use in water, especially salt water. This will help prevent the accessories from rusting.
Although BioThane® is incredibly versatile and repels most dirt and dust it comes into contact with, please note that it is not completely stain-resistant under all circumstances. Regular cleaning is recommended to keep your BioThane® gear looking like new.
Maintaining a PPM (Polypropylene multifilament) rope or a cord/leash made from this material is very simple. Thanks to their synthetic fibers, these ropes are weather-resistant, do not absorb moisture, and do not rot.
To keep it clean and flexible over the long term:
• Washing: You can wash the rope in the washing machine at a maximum temperature of 30°C, preferably using a laundry bag.
• Drying: Let it air dry naturally. Avoid direct sources of intense heat (radiators, hair dryers), as the plastic may deteriorate or warp.
• Storage: Store it in a cool, dry place, away from prolonged and direct exposure to sunlight (to prevent UV-induced color fading over time).
